Idle Distiller Tycoon FAQ: Offline Play, Devices, Progress and Support
Straight answers about Idle Distiller Tycoon: how offline earnings work, supported devices, bottle caps and seasons, saving progress, events, and where the official free download lives.
Getting the game
Is Idle Distiller Tycoon free to play?
Yes. The game is free on the App Store and Google Play. It is funded by optional in-app purchases and rewarded ads. Every season can be completed without spending money; purchases and ads speed things up, they do not gate progress.
Which devices and operating systems does it support?
iPhone and iPad on iOS 15.2 or later, and Android phones and tablets on Android 8.0 or later. There is no browser version. On Windows the game is listed through Google Play Games on PC, which has its own system requirements. There is no separate Mac game, but the iPhone and iPad app can be installed from the Mac App Store on Macs with Apple silicon (macOS 12.1 or later). A Windows download offered anywhere other than Google Play Games on PC, or an APK offered outside Google Play, is not from us.
Why is it rated 18+ on the App Store but Teen on Google Play?
The game is about running breweries and distilleries, so it references alcohol throughout. Apple’s rating system puts alcohol references at 18+; Google Play’s puts the same content at Teen. There is no gambling, no real-money prizes and nothing explicit in the game.
Is there an Idle Distiller Tycoon mod APK, hack or cheat codes?
No. Kano does not publish mods, modified APKs or codes for Idle Distiller Tycoon. Files offered as an Idle Distiller mod APK are third-party repacks; they are a common source of malware, they break cloud saves, and accounts using them can be banned from events. Every boost a mod promises (bottle caps, diamonds, instant automation) is available in the official game through events and rewarded ads.
Is Idle Distiller the same as Idle Distiller Tycoon?
Yes. Idle Distiller Tycoon is the full title on both stores. Players and search results shorten it to Idle Distiller. It is one game with one save.
How the game works
Does the game earn money while I'm offline or the app is closed?
Yes. Every production line that has a manager assigned keeps earning while the app is closed. When you open the game again you collect what accumulated, and you can watch a short rewarded ad to double that collection. Lines without a manager only produce while you tap them. You do need an internet connection when you open the app so events, leaderboards and your cloud save can sync.
What are bottle caps and how do I get more?
Bottle caps are the currency that upgrades managers, and manager levels are what let you automate higher-tier production lines. You earn caps from milestone rewards, daily goals, crates, event rewards and rewarded ads. Later seasons need a lot more caps to automate everything, so prioritise the managers on your highest-earning lines and use event rewards to catch up. Caps can also be bought, but it is never required.
What happens when I finish a season?
You move to a new town with a new set of businesses and the story advances (the corrupt mayor is not finished with you). Your lifetime upgrades and collected characters carry forward; the town’s cash and business levels reset, which is the prestige loop the genre is built on. Seasons get longer as you go.
Are the events worth playing?
Yes, and they are where most of the long-term value is. Events run almost continuously, each with its own short economy, milestone rewards and a leaderboard. You do not need to finish top of the leaderboard to get the milestone rewards, which is where the bottle caps and characters come from. Finishing near the top is competitive and does favour active players and spenders.
How do I automate a business?
Tap the manager slot on the production line and hire or upgrade the manager with bottle caps. An automated line collects and restarts itself, including while the app is closed. Aim to automate your first two or three lines early in each season, then chase milestone multipliers (levels 25, 50, 100 and so on) on the line with the best payout.
Progress, saves and problems
How do I save my progress or move to a new phone?
Sign in through the in-game Settings menu to link your save to a cloud account. Once linked, installing the game on a new device and signing in with the same account restores your progress. Link before you switch phones; an unlinked save lives only on the device it was created on.
I watched an ad but did not get the reward. What do I do?
Close and reopen the app first; most missing rewards are granted on the next launch. If the reward still does not appear, email support with your player ID (Settings → Support) and roughly when it happened so the team can check the ad log and restore it.
The game froze or keeps crashing. Any fixes?
Update to the latest version from the store, restart the device, and make sure the device has free storage. On older phones, closing other apps helps because the game’s event animations are memory-heavy. If it still crashes, contact support with your device model and OS version; the team tracks crash reports by version and fixes the reproducible ones in the next release.
Can I turn off the tutorial arrow and dialogue?
The guided tutorial runs through the first season and then eases off; you can tap through story dialogue quickly. There is no toggle to remove story panels entirely, which is a fair criticism in reviews and something the team hears. Later seasons have noticeably fewer forced prompts.
