You raise its output, hit its customer milestones for a speed or profit bonus, and automate it so it keeps earning while the app is closed. The setting changes; the satisfaction of a well-run business does not.
A corrupt mayor wants your business shut down, and the people around you take sides: Mike with his checklist, Ashley and Nick at the brewery, Maria and Luis on the tequila line, a reporter who is always taking notes. The story runs across 200+ seasons in comic-strip panels between the business decisions. It is the thing players mention most in reviews, alongside the events.
Pick the line that pays back fastest and push it to its next customer milestone. Automating a line asks for one of the crew at a set level, plus cash; after that it earns while you are away and you come back to reinvest. I'm enjoying the game, the graphics, and the story. It's a fun little thing I can have going on the side while I work.
I'm on Season 23 and this game still has my interest with the stories and events. For me, the stories change the dullness other idle games have had.
The frequent side events are a great way to increase the longevity of the game because I focus on those instead of the main questline. The min-maxer in me can’t stay away from ensuring I run every brewery as efficiently as possible.
